We are really excited to announce that registrations are open for the Aotearoa New Zealand Trans Health Symposium at the University of Waikato on Saturday 4 May. The Symposium will include the first presentation of initial findings from the Counting Ourselves survey.The Symposium runs from 9-4.30pm and will be followed by a meeting at 5pm about forming a Professional Association for Transgender Health Aotearoa (PATHA). There is also a pre-symposium public talk on Friday 3 May from visiting international guest, Dr Ruth Pearce.
There are more details, including a draft programme, on the Symposium website. For anyone who is unwaged or on a low income, the registration costs are subsidised and you can pay between $15 and $40 for the day, based on what you can afford.
There are also a very limited number of free scholarships for trans and non-binary people that cover your registration, travel and/or accommodation costs. To apply for scholarships, fill out this short online form and return it by Saturday 20 April.
